Nevada Consumer Affairs Concludes Investigation into MV Realty, Refers Matter to Nevada Office of the Attorney General for Next Steps
Las Vegas, NV —Department of Business and Industry Director Dr. Kristopher Sanchez, in conjunction with Nevada Consumer Affairs (“NCA”) today announced the investigation into MV Realty PBC, LLC, MV Realty of Nevada, LLC, and affiliated entities (collectively, MV Realty) has concluded and they have officially referred the matter to the Nevada Office of the Attorney General for further action on behalf of the State of Nevada.
NCA examined allegations that MV Realty engaged in deceptive trade practices related to its “Homeowner Benefit Program.” The program offered Nevada homeowners payments—typically between $500 and $1,500—in exchange for entering into long-term exclusive real estate listing agreements. NCA found evidence that 40-year exclusive listing agreements were executed without the knowledge of homeowners and that memoranda of those agreements were recorded against properties, creating long-term encumbrances that impacted homeowners’ ability to sell, refinance, or access home equity.
An investigation was opened at the direction of Director Sanchez following media reports in October 2025 that raised questions regarding which authorities, if any, were investigating the actions of MV Realty.
In the four months since, NCA investigators have successfully secured copies of recorded documents, collected dozens of complaints from homeowners, executed a public outreach campaign, and interviewed many witnesses essential to the inquiry. Based on NCA’s current findings, Director Sanchez and the NCA have determined that a formal referral to the Attorney General’s Office requesting their representation in the matter is the appropriate next step for enforcement and potential legal action.
“I want to thank the staff at Nevada Consumer Affairs for their hard work and dedication to aggressively pursue this matter on behalf of the 800 individuals that were affected,” said Director Sanchez. “This team does important work that often goes unnoticed. I would encourage any consumer that has experienced a financial loss or hardship due to a deceptive business practice to contact their office for assistance.”
John Phillips, a Nevada native and resident of Clark County discovered that a lien had been placed on his home after he contacted a lender to access the equity in his house to purchase property and make some updates to his home. Unable to move forward because of the lien, he contacted MV Realty and was unable to resolve the issue. After seeing the article in the Las Vegas Review Journal indicating that Nevada Consumer Affairs was seeking information from impacted homeowners, he immediately contacted the office.
“When I first discovered the lien on my home, I was shocked and in disbelief. The investigator at Nevada Consumer Affairs listened to my concerns and took this issue seriously. I am grateful for their persistence and for moving this forward so that homeowners who were taken advantage of can get relief, and my wife and I can finally make our dream of buying another home closer to our family a reality,” said Phillips.
NCA will work with the Attorney General’s Office to diligently pursue redress for Nevadans who have been harmed by MV Realty’s business practices. Impacted homeowners are encouraged to monitor official communications from the Attorney General’s Office regarding future developments.
